Good morning Nelson Bay.....
We woke up at Jim and Cherie's place, our dive buddies and local guides for this leg of the trip. Nick chose to give the Jucy van's "penthouse" a try and doubled as guard dog for all of our dive gear.
It was a short drive to Let's Go Dive Adventures to pick up our tanks and weights, and an even shorter drive to the dive site where Jim gave us our briefing.
The plan was to do two dives, the first at Seahorse Gardens and the second at Fly Point on the high tide.
Getting into the water near the gardens we looked like a flotilla of underwater paparazzi:
Both dives were epic. Seahorse Gardens lived up to its name, with three seahorses spotted.
Jase, from the UK, hadn't done much diving in Australia and surfaced raving about all of the new species that he had photographed and seen.
Fly Point was a colourful sponge garden dive with heaps of nudis, huge scorpionfish and green morays.
Kieren was stoked about having filmed three different shark species from all three dives of the trip so far. It's a trend he hopes to continue the whole 10 days.
After a barbecue lunch, thanks to Cherie for doing the shopping, it was time to pack the car (again) and head up the road to South West Rocks.
