Underwater Festival Road Trip Day 9

'Why' is for Yongala

Disaster strikes again! The crew fails to make it out to the Yongala together after today's trip was cancelled because of 25-knot winds.

Kieren and Nick were gutted since they didn't get to dive the wreck yesterday. Kieren had hoped to get a few species, and the wreck itself, for his video entries.

So with the bad news delivered Kieren, Nick and Seanna farewelled Jason, who was staying on to try to dive the Yongala on Sunday and then fly out of Townsville on Monday, and headed north towards Cairns.

But first we stopped off at Alligator Creek to have another look for some freshwater eels, long-neck turtles and fish. Kieren and Seanna had a bit of a tough time trying to take photos and video without snorkels, but it was refreshing stop.

We then stopped in Townsville for lunch with Seanna's friend Natalie before making the last big drive of our trip up to Cairns.

Fingers crossed the three amigos have better luck on our reef dives out of Port Douglas tomorrow!
